Cashfree Payments softPOS is an Android-based Point of Sale (POS) solution that enables businesses to accept digital and in-person payments seamlessly. It supports 100+ payment options, including QR codes, Cards, Payment Links, Net Banking, Wallets, and Buy Now Pay Later.Key Benefits:

Use the Cashfree SoftPOS app to accept payments digitally or in person, directly from your phone. Customers can pay via QR code, Payment Links, Cards, Net Banking, Wallets, and more.To use SoftPOS, sign up as a Cashfree Payments merchant and activate your Payment Gateway account. No, the Cashfree Payments softPOS application is not available on the iOS App Store. It is currently available only on the Google Play Store.
There are no daily transaction limits, but there are limits on the amount processed per transaction through different payment modes. These limits can be customized based on your requirements.

Transactions

To initiate a transaction:
  1. Go to the New Payments tab.
  2. Enter the amount you want to receive.
  3. Choose the payment mode you wish to proceed with.
  4. Fill in the required details and click on Accept.
The user will then be shown a QR code that can be scanned using a PSP app to complete the payment.
You can check the status of each transaction in the Payments tab.
  • Transactions in an incomplete state may move to success once confirmation is received from the customer’s bank.
  • If the status doesn’t update and money is deducted, the amount will be returned within 3-4 working days.

There can be multiple reasons for a payment being declined, including failures from the bank’s end.If money is deducted from the customer’s account but the status shows as a failure, the amount will be reversed back to the customer’s account within 7 to 10 working days.
If a transaction is pending:
  1. Go to the Payments tab and pull down to refresh the status of the transaction.
  2. If the transaction status shows as failed, the money will be reversed to the customer’s account within 7 to 10 working days.

Dynamic QR

The difference between dynamic and static QR codes is:
  • Dynamic QR Code:
    • The agent must enter the amount the customer needs to pay.
    • The agent can also customize the order by entering details such as the customer’s phone number, invoice number, and order note.
  • Static QR Code:
    • The customer scans the QR code using their PSP app, enters the amount, and completes the payment.
The upper limit per transaction is ₹1 lakh.This limit can be modified in the dashboard under Payment Methods.
If the timer runs out before the customer completes the transaction:
  • If the customer has not scanned the QR code, you will need to regenerate the order by re-entering all details in the New Payments tab.
  • If the customer has scanned the QR code, they can continue the transaction. You can check the transaction status in the Payments tab by performing a pull-down refresh.
Your customers will have access to 120+ payment options, including cards, net banking, wallets, pay later, and more.

Cash

The Cash option allows the agent to make a ledger entry for any cash collection done upon rendering a service. There is no processing involved from Cashfree Payments. These transactions will show up in the Payments tab and in the reports, which can be used by merchants for reconciliation.
Yes, you will be able to see the details of all transactions, including those marked as cash, in the transaction report.

Reports

You can download the SoftPOS transaction report from the Reports section of your Merchant Dashboard. To do so, click on Reports, navigate to Download Report, and generate a new report. Select the desired file type, choose SoftPOS Transactions as the report type, and specify the date range for the transactions.
The transaction report covers all the details of a transaction, including agent-level details such as:
  • Agent’s name
  • Terminal ID
  • Payment method
